Dear Sir,

Your commentator recently wrote “We seem to rely on outside expertise on matters that we should be capable of handling” — despite “having more educated and qualified Bermudians than ever”. As I have read or listened to all of the outside experts that we have brought in or turned to — as we plan to sell of our land, I have frequently thought that it is unfortunate that we cannot turn to more qualified, more experienced, more committed, more selfless outsiders to sit in Parliament for us. The fact is that we are stuck with Bermudians in Parliament no matter how much they mess up, or how much they despise us as Bermudians. Perhaps we should realise that the same logic or principles that demands that we have Bermudians in Parliament, should prevail in all other areas. We might even solve more of our problems in the long run if we knew that unless we did no one else could or would.
