Back after the Christmas break the Tokio Millennium Youth Mountain Bike Race series gets under way at the Arboretum tomorrow.

Focused on fun rather than competition, the series is geared towards introducing primary schoolchildren to the sport.

Children can use any kind of bicycle, even if they still have stabilisers attached, although parents must ensure that each child has a helmet and wears closed toe, athletic shoes.

There is an advanced course for older children or those who feel they are ready for a new challenge. With the help of riders from Fat Tire Massive, children will be able to take off on an adventure course through the Arboretum.

Each week there are fabulous draw prizes and every child who participates will get a goody bag upon registering for the first time.

The races begin at 4pm tomorrow and continue on every Saturday at the same time for the rest of January.
