Harmonising twins will host a song release party tomorrow in honour of Tiffanelle Pitcher, who was killed in a cycling accident last year.

Rashaun and Rashae Bean were inspired to write the tribute to ten-year-old Tiffanelle, who died after she struck a barrier while riding her bicycle down Tribe Road No 1, Southampton.

The barriers have since been replaced by a safer version with additional horizontal bars and visible white stripes, fitted in September of last year.

The party will take place at The Grand Lounge at the corner of Church and Parliament streets, two days before Tiffanelle would have celebrated her 12th birthday.

One Day contains lyrics written by the twins’ mother Judyann Bean, which the 18-year-old twins arranged to a melody.

They signed with Bermuda agency PlayList Management a year ago.

Rashaun Bean said: “Since then we’ve been trying to do stuff — commercials, videos, all kinds of stuff for our portfolio so that we can work with agencies and have experience under our belts.

“But until we can work in the States, we’re just trying to get our videos together so that we have that experience.”

PlayList’s chief executive, Theresa Minors, founded the developing artist programme for young Bermudians who are interested in learning more about the music industry. Under her guidance the singers signed with Manikin Model and Talent Agency in Jacksonville, Florida.

Tiffanelle’s younger sister, Tizzamaya Pitcher, 10, will be dancing at the event. Tiffanelle is also survived by another sister, Garzaya Pitcher, 12.

“They were Irish twins,” her mother, Tiffany Paul, told The Royal Gazette.

When asked if it was difficult to talk about her daughter, she said: “No way. This is good!”

The Francis Patton student was fond of sports and all things pink, Ms Paul said, adding: “She was a beautiful young lady.

“She loved sports. She loved her running. She loved singing, dancing, beauty, a real girl! She loved dresses. Don’t put no pants on her. She was very relaxed. Humble, peaceful, always got her mind occupied. She had a beautiful spirit.

“She was happy. She always told me, ‘Be happy. Smile’. She was never miserable. She was just a fun, outgoing person. She was Princess Tiffanelle.

“Her sisters miss her tremendously. Garzaya would say, ‘She’s like me.’ They were like twins.

“Tizzamaya would say that she loved her sister — they both did — and always wanted to do things with her. She was fun.

“Tiffanelle seems like she’s still here. That’s how I love to make it feel. She’s at rest right now, she’s at peace. No, we can’t see her, but we still feel her in spirit. so, we keep her alive.”

The event will begin at 7pm and admission is $20.
