A man was jailed yesterday after he admitted to a second breach of curfew in a month.David Fubler, 58, pleaded guilty to a charge that he was away from his home on Monday night.However, the Devonshire man denied a charge that he had prowled outside of a Pembroke home.Magistrates’ Court heard a householder on Railway Terrace contacted police at around 10.15pm after her CCTV system captured a man approaching the passenger door of her car, which was parked in her driveway. The witness said she confronted the man from her balcony.He told her: “I’m going to take a pee.” The witness said she told the man to leave her yard and he complied.Police officers spotted Fubler later near the junction of Border Lane and Palmetto Road in Devonshire. Magistrates’ Court heard that Fubler was fined $3,000 for a breach of curfew on April 27.Fubler apologised to the court, but magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo said the latest offence showed the fine had not been enough to get the message across.Mr Tokunbo told Fubler: “This is an indication that you don’t take this seriously and you don’t understand the need to comply with the curfew.”He sentenced Fubler to 60 days in prison.Mr Tokunbo denied Fubler bail on the prowling charge and adjourned the case until June 29.• It is The Royal Gazette’s policy not to allow comments on stories regarding court cases.
