Brownies create ‘pouches of love’

The First Devonshire Brownies created pouches of love as they packed lotions, shampoos, toothbrushes, soaps and other toiletries in plastic pouches for people in need.

The items, wrapped with love and notes of encouragement, were placed in each bag to donate to the Physical Abuse Centre for individuals requiring shelter to escape abusive situations.

According to a press release from the Brownies, the girls are learning to be compassionate to others, following the motto that a Brownie Guide thinks of others before herself and does a good turn every day.

This year, the Brownies also held a Trashathon and donated $350 to Keep Bermuda Beautiful and non-perishable food items to needy families in the community. They also shipped clothing and shoes to an orphanage in Haiti through the Feed My Lambs Ministry.

They meet on Mondays at Somersfield Academy from 4pm to 5.30pm during the school year.
