Post office box bill problems

The Bermuda Post Office yesterday reminded the public that payment for post boxes was due on January 1. A government spokeswoman apologised for the delay in issuing individual notices and said bills would go out “within the next week”. She added: “Regrettably, the BPO is advising the public that the HSBC bill payment option is currently unavailable. However, arrangements are under way to bring it back online.“In addition, an alternative online payment portal is currently being worked on.”She said instructions on the new online payment tool would be sent out “in due course”. She added: “In the meantime, payments can continue to be made in cash or cheque or by debit or credit card at any post office around the island.”The spokeswoman said: “Please note that payments made from February 1, 2020 are subject to a late fee of $25 in addition to the post box renewal fee.”Post box rental fees are: Small: 6 months, $50; 12 months, $85; 24 months, $150Medium: 6 months, $75; 12 months, $120; 24 months, $220Large: 6 months, $175; 12 months, $300; 24 months, $575• For more information contact 297-7955 or visit bpo.bm
