Lee looks for stability at Loughborough

Roger Lee, the Bermuda defender, will be looking to relaunch his stuttering football career in England at non-League side Loughborough Dynamo.

Lee signed for Loughborough, who play in the Northern Premier League First Division South — the eighth tier of the English pyramid — from league rivals Stafford Rangers at the start of this month.

The 25-year-old, who played in Bermuda’s 4-2 defeat at home to Canada at the weekend, has had short stints at a laundry list of clubs since arriving in England in 2014, including Rugby Town, Weston-super-Mare, Ilkeston and Gloucester City.

Paul Scope, who has been helping link Bermudian players with English clubs for a number of years, said he hopes Lee will be able to find some stability at Loughborough.

“It looks like Roger has at last found a club where he will get games,” Scope, a former Bermuda assistant coach, said.

“Unfortunately Roger has always been behind the eight ball and hasn’t been able to force his way into teams. He’s spent a lot of time on the bench, getting 20 minutes here and there, and as a defender there’s not a lot you can do in 20 minutes other than make mistakes.

“He’s had a tough ride but he’s shown a lot of determination and Loughborough seem to like him.”

Loughborough are third from bottom in the table.
