Contest in command

Coronation Cup chase with first and second place finishes during Fitted Dinghy racing this weekend.

The day's first race for the A.S. Cooper Cup witnessed the Royal Bermuda Yacht Club boat overcome a starting position at the rear of the six member fleet to finally end up a second behind Echo , while Port Royal II was third.

A similar scenario ensued for the start of race two, but using great team-work and accurate reading of the wind shifts by skipper Andreas Lewin Contest was able to go one better, claiming the top spot ahead of Challenger II and Echo .

Contest now leads the overall standings by a healthy six and a half points over Challenger as the season approaches the mid-way mark.

After nine races Contest has a total of 423 points compared to 361 for Challenger , with Echo next on 331 . Rounding out the field are Elizabeth II (301 ), Port Royal II (271 ) and Victory (18).
