The Royal Gazette/BSX closed down 8.16 points or 0.68 per cent at 1,197.11.

The Bank of Butterfield was unchanged at $1.70 after 16,275 shares changed hands.

Somers Ltd was down $1.25, or 8.8 per cent, at $13 after 1,200 shares traded.

The BSX also announced that Polaris Holding Company had bought 1,050 of its shares in February at $4 a share for cancellation.

The BSX Insurance Index closed down 28.17 points or 1.72 per cent at 1,670.21
