BSX closes lower as five stocks dip
Five stocks finished the week lower on The Royal Gazette/BSX, sending the index down 27.73 points, or 2.32 per cent, to close at 1,190.51.
The biggest drop was Argus Group shares, which were down 23 cents, or 5.9 per cent, at $3.67 after 56,986 were traded.
Also down were shares of HSBC Holdings, which lost 35 cents, or 5.6 per cent, to finish at $5.90 after 1,487 changed hands.
Utilities company Ascendant Group closed the week 20 cents lower, or 4.3 per cent, at $4.50 after 1,300 shares were exchanged, and also moving down were shares of Butterfield Bank, which closed five cents down, or 2.9 per cent, at $1.70 after 61,944 were traded.
BF&M shares edged five cents lower, or 0.3 per cent, at $16.70 after 2,100 were exchanged.
Two shares improved on the week. Polaris Holding’s shares were 94 cents higher, or 30.2 per cent, at $4.05 after 31,971 were traded, while Watlington Waterworks were three cents higher, or 0.1 per cent, at $20.26 after 1,000 shares were exchanged.
The total value of shares traded was $568,840.
The BSX Insurance Index closed up 9.85 points, or 0.59 per cent, at 1,664.34.
