Police 157 all out

St. David's produced a sterling all-round team performance yesterday to dispatch Police by 65 runs at Police Field, with the whole team contributing in some form throughout the match.

From batting to fielding, the visitors were always on the front foot and fully deserved their victory.

Posting a sound total of 222 batting first, skipper Delyone Borden turned the screws on his opponents by constantly changing bowlers so the batsmen could never get comfortable at the crease.

A first wicket stand of 38 by James Celestine (40) and Anderson Cumberbatch (14) was the biggest of the innings for the hosts, who lost wickets at regular intervals, thanks in large part to Borden's understanding of each situation his side faced.

Garvin Aparicio (21) and Wendell Dottin (26) were the only other batsmen to trouble the scorecard in making their way to their final total of 157 all out.

Five bowlers claimed wickets with Del Hollis taking four for 36, Angelo Cannonier claiming three for 39, while Justin Pitcher, Chris Douglas, and OJ Pitcher all snatched a wicket apiece.

Earlier in the St. David's innings, a 77-run third wicket partnership between Landro Minors and skipper Delyone Borden laid the foundation for the score the Islanders put up.

Minors (41) and Borden (61) came together with the Islanders on 61 for two and pushed the score to 138 before Minors departed with the visitors in a solid position.

Melvin Best had figures of three for 49 for Police, while Traddie Simpson (two for 40) and Anderson Cumberbatch (two for 50) also weighed in.

Bailey's Bay 256/5

YMSC 260/6

Young Men's Social Club got back to winning ways this weekend, beating Bailey's Bay by four wickets at Sea Breeze Oval.

Batting first the home side piled on the runs courtesy of national team batsmen Stephen Outerbridge (96) and Glenn Blakeney (62). An opening partnership of 70 runs between Blakeney and U-19 skipper Terryn Fray (15) set the hosts up nicely to get the score they eventually put up.

Dwayne Adams and Kevin Hurdle were the main threats to Bay, taking two for 33 and two for 52 respectively.

Solid batting from Daniel Morgan (82*), Charlie Marshall (80) and Dwayne Adams (32) saw Social Club home.

Morgan and Marshall put on 128 for the fifth wicket to guide the visitors from 105 for five to 233 before Marshall departed.

Kyle Hodsoll lead Bay's bowling with two wickets for 33 runs.
