race meetings at the North Shore, Devonshire track.
And the sport is fast turning into one of Bermuda's most popular, especially among the youngsters.
Racing last Saturday saw events in three separate divisions with John Cook emerging triumphant among the 15-and-over age group, followed by Arthur Pitcher and Tekle Ming.
Eric Simpson took the honours in the 12-14 division followed by Kalen Marshall and Lemar Caines while Karlos Woods came out tops in the 9-11 group. Justin Pitcher placed second and Joseph Smith third.
Next race day is December 12 when the race finals will be held along with a jumping and freestyle competition.
The trophy presentation is slated for December 19 when racing for girls will also be held. Sponsors have provided three bicycles for females who haven't been able to seriously compete this season. Events have been scheduled in the over-13, 11-12 and 8-10 divisions.
Added activity for the riders will also be scheduled over the Christmas holidays. More information on BMX racing can be obtained from Keith Simmons at 295-7376.
