CableVision promotes Jones

Michael Jones

Bermuda CableVision has promoted Mike Jones to senior director of technical operations.

Mr Jones is a veteran technician with more than 26 years’ experience in the field. He joined Bermuda CableVision in 1988 as the first Bermudian Installer Technician and he has risen through the ranks throughout his career with Bermuda CableVision.

He has held the following positions in the company: service technician, systems engineer, chief technician, plant maintenance technician, senior plant maintenance technician and, most recently, plant manager.

Mr Jones has obtained numerous certifications in the cable and technology field and was the first Bermudian to obtain certification from the National Cable Television Institute in 1989 when he became a Certified Installer. He has also obtained certifications for Installer Technician, Service Technician, Fibre Optics Technician, Systems Technician and Advanced Technician.

Bermuda CableVision chief executive officer Terry Roberson said: “Mike has been a dedicated employee of Bermuda CableVision and we have been pleased to see him take on roles of higher responsibility over the years. We value Mike’s leadership and contribution to the company. On behalf of the senior management team, I would like to congratulate him on his new role.”

Mr Jones said he was thrilled about the appointment. “I have spent almost three decades working for a company that I love and I am looking forward to what the future will bring as the company grows,” he said.

“I also would like to thank the company for helping me to develop my career in the cable field.”
