The two-hour Colours of Tango show features a seductive and sensual performance by 10 dancers from the acclaimed Tango Y Mas Dance Company under the direction of choreographer and founder Angel G. Colours of Tango is a historical account of the journey of tango from the brothels of Buenos Aires, to its ballrooms, and is as educational as it is stunningly beautiful. Founded in 2000, Tango y Mas Company has thrilled enthusiastic audiences throughout the United States, Mexico, South America and Europe with its intensity and authenticity. The troupe has toured with Julio Iglesias and, among other television spots, has appeared on 'Good Morning America'.
Performances by the senior and student companies of Sabor Dance School will be integrated into the show.
Proceeds of BIFF's Reel World Weekend will be used to support the Festival's educational programmes, as well as the Festival itself. With the funds raised, BIFF seeks to advance film education, promote filmmaking and support film exhibition.
Activities include:
¦ Supporting the BIFF Film Academy for nursery school, primary school, middle school, senior school and college-age youth, which facilitates the study of the history, theory, art and business of making films
¦ Establishing grants, bursaries and/or fellowships for the study of filmmaking
