A three car collision that occurred last night resulted in three people sustaining injuries, Police confirmed this morning.

At the last Police check, a 25 year-old Pembroke man was recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the King Edward Memorial Hospital, while a 23 year-old Pembroke woman and six year-old child apparently received treatment at the hospital for minor injuries before being discharged.

The accident took place at about 7:30pm last night on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, near the junction with Sandy Lane, causing traffic diversions that lasted for several hours. The road reopened at 10.30pm.

Badly damaged vehicles were strewn across North Shore Road and traffic was disrupted after the accident in the Crawl area.

The pile-up occurred near the Clearview guest house, which is situated at the brow of a hill.

An eastbound vehicle is believed to have lost control and struck two other cars travelling in the opposite direction.

An unofficial report at the scene suggested that one driver may have left the area before Police arrived.

A Police spokesman said: “The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank those motorists that were inconvenienced for their patience and cooperation.”

Inquiries into the collision are ongoing and any witnesses that have not already come forward should contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788 or the main police telephone number 295-0011.
