Dear Sir,

Is it legal to drink and drive, and is it legal to make U-turns on Front Street?

The reason I ask is because recently I was having dinner on the balcony of a restaurant on Front Street, and observed a car doing a u-turn right in front of a Police motorcycle officer. The car and its driver continued and the Police officer remained on his bike.

No effort was made to question the car drivers antics.Also I observed two men exiting a local liquor store, each carrying a brown bag, not quite disguising elephant beers. One of the men sat in the drivers seat, and the other in the passenger seat of a waiting car.

At that exact time a Police car with two occupants drove by and continued on.

They may or may not have observed what I did but if they did, would they have taken any action? Hence my question, is it legal to drink and drive, and is it legal to do U-turns on Front Street?
