Santa to visit the General Post Office

Children of all ages will be given the chance to have their photo taken with Santa Claus tomorrow.

Taking a break from his busy holiday schedule, Father Christmas will be visiting the foyer of the General Post Office (GPO) in Hamilton from 10am to 4pm.

A Bermuda Post Office spokesman said: “This initiative is primarily designed to encourage children to write holiday greetings, to teach them how to correctly address a postcard, to experience the postal mailing process and to allow the children to have fun with Santa.

“There will be holiday music playing in the background, complimentary glass candy, popcorn and homemade cookies for the children to enjoy.”

He added: “Santa has informed us that he is looking forward to meeting the children and that he is on a very special diet to ensure that he looks his jolly best for the occasion.”

The photos will be placed on personalised Christmas postcards which can then be mailed in a special red mailbox in the GPO lobby.

Postcards will cost $2 and postage ranges from $0.35 for local mail to $0.95 for international mail.
