AWAC open for business
Deputy Premier and Finance Minister Paula Cox, US Consul General Gregory Slayton and a number of leading business CEOs were invited to tour Allied World Assurance Company’s new offices in Hamilton.
The company this week revealed a new company logo as it moves into its sixth year of operation. Chief executive officer and president Scott Carmilani played host to invited guests at AWAC’s new offices, which are housed in seven-storey block behind the AIG offices in Richmond Road.
AWAC also last night announced a quarterly dividend of 15 cents per common share to be paid on April 5 to shareholders of record as of March 20.
Founded in 2001 after the September 11 terrorist attacks, AWAC was established by AIG, Chubb and Goldman Sachs, it has grown to the point where it now employs around 165 people in Bermuda. As it expanded, it rented office space in five locations around Hamilton. The staff are now all located in the new offices.
