A local company focused on beautifying the home has turned its sights on sprucing up the entire Island.Orange Bay Company, a home furnishings and accessories store, donated $2,000 to environmental charity Keep Bermuda Beautiful (KBB).The KBB organises community trash cleanups and promotes awareness of topics such as reusing and recycling.Since opening in 2009, Orange Bay Company has donated part of its annual profits to charities that are enriching lives and providing assistance to those in need in the Bermuda community.Last year they helped Teen Services to redecorate and refurbish.“At Orange Bay Company, we’re focused on promoting better living for everyone in our community; helping people create beautiful, inspiring spaces that they can enjoy with their loved ones,” said Delight Morris, Co-Owner of Orange Bay Company. “KBB is focused on preserving the beauty of our island and creating a healthy environment that we can all enjoy for generations to come. We have similar philosophies.”Mrs Morris said her company chose KBB because it appreciated the work that KBB did to enhance the quality of life for the community.“We’re strong believers in recycling, reusing and repurposing,” she said. “It’s at the core of our business — so we’re fans of the educational work KBB does to promote recycling, and we’re pleased to be able to support this wonderful organisation.”KBB Executive Director Anne Hyde thanked the Orange Bay Company for their donation.“Funds will be used to help cover the costs of organising and running cleanups of Bermuda’s shore lines and green spaces, and educating young people on the benefits of recycling,” she said. “It is through the support of local businesses like Orange Bay Company, that provide both financial and volunteer support, that we are able to continue to work to keep Bermuda clean and tidy and educate our community about the importance of keeping Bermuda beautiful.”In addition to donating part of its annual profits to charities, Orange Bay Company also organises an annual charity fundraiser each year that has raised a total of $70,000 for local charities over the last four years including The Bermuda National Trust, The Sunshine League, The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), The Salvation Army, The Reading Clinic and Teen Haven.
