The bride wore Maggie Sottero?s creation ?Samatha? a diamond white, strapless, wedding gown featuring a corset back and sweeping train and embellished with embroidery, Swarovski crystal pearls, sequins, bugle beads and seed beads. Carrying a bouquet of blue irises, white roses, and seashells, she was given in marriage by her mother, Mrs. Barbara Dwyer and her father, Lt. Col. Paul Dwyer. The bridesmaids, Sherry Cantrell, Laura Peters, Sarah Dunsford, Debbie Dogancay and Lety Hinojosa, wore bluebonnet blue floor length dresses and carried bouquets of blue irises.
The flower girl, Miss Sunset Flores, wore a white dress trimmed in matching blue. The groomsmen, Barry Horne, Matt Fillingim, Michael Jeanes, Musfik Dogancy and Michael Davidson, all wore black tuxedos, with bluebonnet blue ties and vests.
A buffet luncheon followed in the California Room of the Inn. Tables, named after the nine Bermudian Parishes, were decorated with photos of Bermuda and centrepieces of white candles standing in Bermuda sand and scattered with shells. Tiny treasure chests, filled with silver and gold chocolate coins, completed the nautical ambience. The three tier cake was also decorated with coloured shells made of white chocolate. The groom?s cake, was decorated with gold leaf and the traditional sprig of Bermuda cedar.
The ocean has been an important part of both Bob and Cindy?s lives, both having grown up near the sea and later studying Oceanography together in Florida. As part of the ceremony, they had a combining of sands from Bermuda and Texas symbolising their commitment to each other. Not to miss out on the traditional Bermuda Moongate, the sand was poured into a bowl of sand containing a cedar replica. After a brief honeymoon at Mammoth Mountain Ski Resort, the couple returned to their home in Oxnard, California.
Those attending the wedding from Bermuda were the groom?s parents, Mr. & Mrs. William Pratt, Mr. & Mrs. David Barnes (Aunt and Uncle), and friends of the groom, Michael Davidson, Russell Williams and Robert Rego Jr.
