Cup semi called off after storm

The first FA Cup semi-final between North Village and Devonshire Cougars was a victim of yesterday's foul weather ¿ called off because the Wellington Oval pitch was waterlogged.

No date was announced yesterday by Bermuda Football Association as to when the game will be played.

The second semi-final between Hamilton Parish and Somerset Eagles is scheduled for Sunday, March 21 at Somerset Cricket Club.

No games in the Premier Division were scheduled yesterday.

But in the First Division, Ireland Rangers were held to a 2-2 draw by Prospect United at Malabar.

Rangers went ahead when Henry Santucci scored before Kentoine Jennings equalised for Prospect.

Santucci was on target again before half-time but Jennings equalised again with a header.

The wind and rain also affected rugby yesterday.

The Nichol Shield semi-finals between Mariners and Renegades, and the game between Teachers and Police, were called off after the National Sports Centre North Field was closed for safety reasons.

n Khano Smith started his first pre-season game for New England Revolution in their 6-0 win against a team of college all-stars.

Guest player Smith played the first half of the match before he was replaced by Sainey Nyassi on Thursday.

The Bermuda international is training with the Revs after having been released by English League Two side, Lincoln City.
