second year running -- despite seeing their location sold off.

Jennifer Lang and Craig Smith started C.J. Summer Camp last year on Agar's Island in an attempt to fill the gap left by now closed Camp Juniper.

Last year went well although "we didn't get the numbers we hoped for'', said Miss Lang, who added, "but this worked in our favour because we could see what we were doing right and what we needed to change''.

However, over the winter the island was sold leaving the camp without a base.

So the intrepid duo sought out a new location and this year the camp will be held at Admiralty House from June 30 through September 5.

"This has necessitated some changes,'' said Miss Lang, "but we will still be able to do all the things we did last year except teach rowing.

"Instead we will teach water safety, marine rules and knot tying which will probably be more useful anyway.'' There will also be arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, fishing, pirate days and treasure hunts to keep the troops happy.

"And we're hoping to rent a boat every couple of weeks to take the campers on day trips,'' said Miss Lang.

She added the camp was now offering half day spaces to three and four-year-olds which was proving popular although the camp was the most popular amongst five to seven-year-olds.

Mr. Smith works at Air Care Ltd. as a pipe fitting apprentice and plans to attend Seneca College in the fall to study recreational facility management while Miss Lang, a nanny, intends to pursue a career in education.
