BSX edges higher

The Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) Index climbed on the back of rising Butterfield Bank shares yesterday.
Butterfield gained 50 cents (0.9 percent) to close at $58, as 3,093 shares sold.
There was heavy trading in shares of MediaHouse Ltd., as 10,000 shares changed hands and the company saw its shares rise 10 cents (1.5 percent) to $6.65.
A total of 10,300 shares in Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. Warrants were traded, as the issue remained unchanged at $1.65.
The only issue to decline was insurer BF&M Ltd., which lost 50 cents (2.6 percent) to close at $18.50.
The BSX Index gained 20.1 points (0.4 percent) to close at 5,023.09. Volume of shares traded was 24,193 and turnover was $278,144.25.
