BSX tops 5,000
A final lift at the end of the week put the Royal Gazette / Bermuda Stock Exchange back above the 5,000 points mark by the slimmest of margins.
The Exchange rose 18.67 points (0.37 percent) to finish the day at 5,000.05 after local shares worth a total of $363,585 were traded.
Butterfield Bank shares improved by 25 cents (0.4 percent) to end the week at $57.75 after a total of 1,460 were traded.
Improving by the same value of 25 cents (1.7 percent) were shares of insurance group Argus. A total of 14,900 shares were exchanged to improve the closing price at $14.75.
Rival insurer BF&M lost ground, its shares ending 25 cents lower (1.4 percent) at $18.25 after 3,100 were traded.
Eighty shares in MediaHouse Limited were also traded on the Exchange, but there was no change to the closing price of $6.75.
The total number of local shares traded was 19,540.
