ISL outfit Arsenal look for new talent

Island Soccer League (ISL) outfit The Arsenal have thrown the door open for local players to join their roster with trials to held later this month.

Head coach Nick Jones and his assistant Elliott Jennings will be running the rule over potential talent at Bernard Park from 6 p.m on April 22.

Jones said he was confident his team would rebound from their difficult debut season.

"This season we will improve and anyone who thinks they're good enough should come down and try and impress me and Elliott (Jennings)," he said.

"We didn't get the results we wanted last season but in many ways the season was still a success as we unearthed new talent like Jeff Franklin and Martin Godley from the Commercial League.

"Both players have enjoyed success this season with Jeff at PHC and Martin at North Village. Last season also gave Elliott the chance to cut his teeth in coaching and we've all seen how well his North Village team have done this season."

The Arsenal have kept Dwayne Adams, Travis Wilkinson, Shawande Butterfield and Dwyia Blyden as the four players they will protect from the SuperDraft early next month.

The Apex have kept Vernon Tankard, Kori Goddard, Jamal Simmons and Heyes Wolfe. Defending champions Kings have protected Kijuan Franks, Dion Stovell, Cyd-Joe Matthew and Jahnai Bean.

League runners-up Knights will be built around Ricky Tucker, Coolridge Durham, Vincent Minors jr and Phil Anderson.

Jemeiko Jennings, Adam Shaw, Tafari Outerbridge and goalkeeper Adrian Burrows have all been kept by the Royal. The Storm will build their team around Corey Garcia, Antoine Russell, OJ Minors and Raymond Burgess.

The Titans' backbone will be made up of Troy Hall, Conneko Trott, Damon Francis and Tokia Russell.

The Union have kept Josh Butterfield, Jason Smith, Blenn Bean and Rohaan Simons away from the SuperDraft.
