Pair deny drug charges

A 32-year-old man has denied having cocaine and planning to deal the drug.

Akono Parsons, of Pembroke, pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court this morning to possession of 21.08 grams of cocaine worth an estimated $6,500 in Paget on January 14.

He also pleaded not guilty to possession of 1.19g of cannabis on the same date, and of having three grinders and a digital scale for use with a controlled drug.

He appeared in court alongside Patricia Parsons, 55, of Paget, who pleaded not guilty to possession of 1.16g of cannabis on January 14 in Paget.

Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner adjourned the case until January 6 and released the defendants on $15,000 bail each with one surety.
