Special event for parents interested in teaching children about the environment planned
Raising environmentally conscious children will be the main thrust of an interactive session geared for parents next month.The session will be hosted by Bermudian author David Chapman at a book signing event to launch the latest in the ‘Daddy And I Explore’ children’s book series.Mr Chapman is currently completing his doctorate in the UK at Royal Holloway, University of London and was due to return to Bermuda last night.The event, to be held at the Horticultural Hall on January 5, from 3 to 4.30pm, is sponsored by the African Disaspora Heritage Trail (ADHT) Bermuda Foundation.The 90-minute programme is designed to equip parents with the resources and activities they can use to help children recognise the importance of Bermuda’s unique environment.The latest book in the postgraduate research student’s series is ‘Daddy And I Explore The Caves!’.The entire set of five books are available at several locations including the Bermuda Aquarium, Robertson’s Drugstore, The Bookmart, Bermuda Bookstore and Caesar’s Pharmacy.For more information e-mail dechapman@mac.com.
