Pair target Rangers return
Cleveland County pair Dwayne Leverock and Curtis Jackson have targeted a return to Southampton Rangers this season, The Royal Gazette can reveal.
The seasoned campaigners won multiple league and cup honours during a previous playing stint at Southampton Oval where they will be reunited with former Somerset Cup Match team-mate Janeiro Tucker ¿ Rangers' current player/coach.
Veteran opening bat Jackson, who cracked a record 182 not out to propel former club Somerset Bridge to a famous 120 run win over Rangers in the 2002 Western Counties final, and left -arm spinner Leverock both made limited appearances for Cleveland last season, with the latter heavily committed to the senior national programme.
Two years ago at Lords the charismatic Leverock claimed five for 39 to inspire Rangers to a third successive Belco Cup crown.
It is also understood that promising Willow Cuts all-rounder, Deunte Darrell, and Devonshire wicketkeeper/ batsman, Ricardo Brangman, had both expressed interests in a move to Rangers.
However, the pair have since opted against severing ties with their respective clubs ahead of the 2009 campaign which kicks off in April.
Bermuda Cricket Board's 2009 transfer period concludes at the end of March.
