Police said a 45-year-old Hamilton woman left a gym bag and a grocery bag in her car on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish while she went inside her mother's house to make a phone call.

When she returned two to three minutes later, both bags had been stolen.

Police could not say how much the jewellery was worth.

Police are investigating the theft of a set of keys from a car on Knapton Hill, Smith's Parish.

The owner of the car said someone gained access to the car in the early hours of Tuesday while it was parked in his driveway.

TRUCK PUSHED OVER CRM Truck pushed over A truck left parked near the entrance to Dockyard was pushed over on its side by pranksters, Police said.

Officers called to the scene at 1.30 a.m. on Wednesday discovered the overturned truck -- and no sign of the driver.

A Police spokesman said the truck was secured and "had obviously been parked in a parking bay'' on Freeport Road.

The officers were able to right the vehicle, which appeared to be undamaged and concluded that the vehicle -- which had been left parked and left unattended by the owner -- had been pushed over.

Anyone who can assist Police in finding who was responsible should contact Somerset Police Station at 234-1010, the spokesman said.

CYCLE RIDER INJURED AC Cycle rider injured A 21-year-old cycle rider sustained facial injuries and a dislocated thumb in a road accident.

Police reported that the accident occurred around 4 p.m. on Wednesday at Serpentine Road, Pembroke, near Bermuda Electric Light Company's main plant, when a Suzuki motor cycle collided with a car.

The 21-year-old Pembroke man was in the process of overtaking the car when he hit it and lost control of the bike, Police said. The accident is under investigation.

In an unrelated incident, Police attended a three-vehicle accident on Harrington Sound Road on Wednesday.

Police reported that the accident occurred around 4.30 p.m. near the junction of Paynters Road when a red Toyota Starlet travelling east stopped for traffic ahead. Two other cars -- a Nissan and Toyota Corolla -- which were travelling behind the car were unable to stop, resulting in the three-vehicle pile-up.

No injuries were reported. However, all three cars were damaged.

ASTWOOD COVE BREAK-IN CRM Astwood Cove break-in Astwood Cove Guest Apartments had two separate rooms broken into during the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Police reported that a man's backpack and his trousers containing a wallet were removed while he and his family slept.

The theft was discovered the following morning. The trousers, wallet and backpack were found, minus the cash, after a search of the area.

A couple staying at the same guest house in Warwick reported a pouch was stolen from their room around the same time on Wednesday.

Police said the pouch, which contained travel documents, a driver's licence, and credit cards, was later found with all the items intact.

Inquiries into the two incidents were continuing.

In an unrelated incident, Police said they were investigating several break-ins at doctor's office on Gorham Road, Pembroke.

The break-ins occurred between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

Some damage was caused, but Police said very little was stolen.

The break-ins are under investigation. Anyone who may have seen persons acting suspiciously in the area are asked to call Hamilton CID on 295-0011.
