Dion Stovell stroked 77 as Southampton Rangers defeated Western Stars by three wickets at St. John's Field.

Stars, batting first, were bowled out for 215 after some good knocks from Wayne Campbell (45), Treadwell Gibbons (41), and Raymond Butterfield (37), who scored the bulk of the runs with no one else really troubling the Rangers bowling attack.

Janeiro Tucker returned figures of five wickets for 51 runs, while Malachi Jones took three for 70 to restrict Stars from batting out their allotted overs.

Dion Stovell proceeded to lead from the front of the innings with a knock of 77, while Shannon Rayner (49) and Andrew Raynor (21) all chipped in to carry the visitors over the line with three wickets in hand.

Raymond Butterfield was the pick of the Stars bowlers with figures of three for 74, and was assisted by Justin Robinson who took two for 39.

Young Men's Social

Club 366

Devonshire Rec. 205-6

Young Men's Social Club and Devonshire Rec. played to a draw at Devonshire Rec. yesterday.

Social Club batted first with Nakia Smith (116) producing an explosive century to lead the Social Club innings to a formidable total of 366.

Their opening pair of Dwayne Adams (30) and Terry Thomas (30) got the home side off to a solid start, putting on 60 for the first wicket partnership.

Detroy Smith scored 41 to help his side along.

Wilbur Burt returned figures of three for 76, while Dennis Williams also produced with two for 64.

In reply, Devonshire Rec. batted out their overs, with opening pair Tori Henry (45 not out) and Oladapo Fredericks (45), leading the run chase.

Ian Armstrong was the highest scorer for the Devonshire club, hitting 60 on his return to the Island.

Detroy Smith was the pick of the Social Club bowlers, claiming three scalps for 47 runs.

Willow Cuts 134

At Lords opener McLaren Lowe struck a brisk 91 not out and joined Shea Pitcher in a second wicket stand that added 130 runs to lead the East Enders to a nine-wicket triumph. Pitcher was not out on 34.

Lowe's fine innings included three sixes and 15 fours.

The home side also had an outstanding performance from veteran all-rounder Del Hollis who led their bowling with a haul of five wickets for 37 runs off 11.4 overs with three maidens.

The only batsman for the visiting having any joy was Kevon Fubler who top scored with 36.

Bailey's Bay 161

Home side Bailey's Bay defeated St. George's by 24 runs at Sea Breeze Oval with Marvin Trott top scoring with 51 (seven fours) and Glenn Blakeney following with 26.

In the bowling department Kearon Trott took two for 38 off 12 overs with two maidens for Bay, while Tre Govia took two for 34 off 13 overs with four maidens.

Akeem Trott top scored for St. George's with 25 with veteran Herbie Bascome contributing 20 and 12-year-old Okera Bascome 13 not out.

Greg Foggo and Bascome combined to take eight wickets between them, Foggo claiming four for 58 off 20.2 overs with three maidens and Bascome four for 78 off 24 overs and five maidens.

First Division

Somerset CC 254

Police 183

Wendell Ditton hit a century and teenager Josh Gilbert claimed three for 20 to lead Somerset CC to a 71-run victory over Police at Somerset CC.

Ditton finished on 117 runs from 95 balls, striking five sixes and 12 fours while Allan Boyce contributed 27 for the West Enders.

Ozzie Hinds took three for 42 off 10 overs with two maidens.

Trevor Haynes top scored for Police 58 and veteran Dennis Archer hit 28. Josh Gilbert took three for 20 off two overs with three maidens.

Cleveland 156

PHC 159-3

At White Hilll PHC defeated Cleveland by seven wickets with spinner David Adams snatching six for 47 off 17 overs and Jason Anderson hammering 87 runs, including three sixes and 12 fours.

Courtney Trott scored 39 for Cleveland.

Warwick 174

Flatts 175-7

Regino Smith took four wickets for 20 runs off 8.3 overs and three maidens and Vernon Eve had two for 46 off 14 overs to inspire Flatts to the three wicket win.

Warwick's Rohaan Davis hit 42 while Daniel Morgan scored 34. Barry Decouto Jr. was top scorer for Flatts with 36 while Chris Douglas led Warwick's bowlers with three for 52 off nine overs.

Leg Trappers 115

Somerset Bridge 108

At Police Field, Leg Trappers defeated Somerset Bridge by seven runs in an evenly contested match.

Terrance Corday and Stephen Drake both scored 18 runs as Leg Trappers were bowled all out for 115.

Donnie Charles had bowling figures of four for 37 for Somerset Bridge, and Jermaine Salaam had figures of four for 55.

Somerset Bridge were then bowled out just seven runs short of victory.

Cofield Robinson was the top scorer with 38, while Johann Ooschuizen had bowling figures of four for 33 for Leg Trappers.
