Cuts pile up runs against eight men of Social Club
Social Club 71 Social Club paid heavily for fielding just eight men, losing to Willow Cuts by a whopping 331-run margin in this comical game at Somerset that was reduced to 44 overs after a short rain interruption.
Winning the toss and batting first with obvious intentions of gaining valuable batting practice for Saturday's Western Counties Cup opener, Cuts reached their mammoth total thanks to undefeated centuries from Andre Hendrickson and Gladwin Edness who shared a third wicket stand of 146.
Hendrickson was top bat with 143, striking 24 fours and four sixes while Edness struck 101 with 12 fours and three sixes. Others taking advantage of the limited attack were Kevin Fubler with 60 (10 fours), skipper Dexter Basden 24 and Dwight Basden 10. J.Durham led the Social Club bowlers with two wickets for 62 off 10 overs.
After labouring in the sun for close to four hours Social Club had no hopes of winning, but still finished with a creditable 71 off 27.3 overs with A.Brangman top bat with 17. Gary Williams followed with 15.
Kevin Fubler led Cuts in bowling with two for 15 off six overs, Charles Swan had two for 17 off eight overs and two maidens while Hinds had two for 22 off eight overs.
Warwick 126 Police 130-5 Nyon Steede snatched three wickets while rarely used bowler Terry Thomas and Dwayne Leverock each took two apiece as Police dealt Warwick a five-wicket defeat at Southampton Oval.

Thomas had two for 12 off 5.5 overs while Leverock had two for 21 from 10 overs.
Leading Warwick to their respectable total was Dion Stovell with 30 while teenager Jason Williams followed with 19. Veteran Reginald Pitcher contributed 11 not out.
Police reached victory off 21.2 overs with Kenny Phillip and Archer adding 51 for the sixth wicket after Warwick had them sweating at 79 for five. Phillip was undefeated on 38 and Archer not out on 15.
Opener Andrew Rollins had scored 21 and Leverock 13.
