On Monday, Coolridge Eve, 35, of Bulkhead Drive pleaded guilty in the Supreme Court to the charge.
On July 10 of this year, Eve unlawfully entered the Shopping Centre on Victoria Street in Pembroke and stole an undisclosed amount of money.
Eve was being held in custody until his sentencing.

Shervin Jennings, of Curving Lane, Pembroke, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to causing bodily harm to his ex-girlfriend.
Crown counsel Veronica Daley told the court that at 7.45 p.m. on August 29, the couple was arguing over a plane ticket.
Jennings pushed her to the ground and put his knee into her back and chest. In the struggle, a neck chain the complainant was wearing broke off her neck.
She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where she was treated for bruises on her back and chest. Jennings was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.
However, in Magistrates' Court, Jennings told the court that he and the complainant were back together again. He went on to say that she was the first to hit him in the argument.
Senior Magistrate Will Francis ordered Jennings to pay a $500 fine and he warned him to control his anger.

Roderick Gilbert Tucker, 43, of Union Street, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to the charge of stealing two Vidal Sassoon hair dryers worth $45.98 from the Shopping Centre on Victoria Street on October 27 last year.
Crown counsel Veronica Daley told the court that at 7.30 p.m., Tucker entered the store but stayed in the front area by the cash registers.
He left and returned to the same spot.
Staff noticed that Tucker looked nervous and began to pace back and forth in the entrance area.
They then saw him remove two Vidal Sassoon hair dryers and walk out with them without paying for them.
Police were subsequently called and Tucker was identified from the security video. He was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station.
The stolen property has yet to be recovered.
