Motorcyclist attacked after men block his path

A man was attacked after two men blocked his path and forced him to get off his bike and remove his jacket.

The 46-year-old St. George?s man was driving along Cloverdale Road in Devonshire at 10.15 p.m. on Saturday evening when he saw two unknown men blocking his path.

One of the suspects told the St. George?s man to get off his motorcycle and to take his jacket and helmet off. After he did they began punching him about the body and head. The St. George?s man managed to escape and ran to the Collector?s Hill Esso gas station. When he returned a short while later he found that his bike and helmet remained at the scene untouched.

However, his jacket, which contained personal items, was missing as well as the reading glasses he was wearing at the time of the attack.

He then rode to the hospital where he was treated for swelling and bruising to the face and a cut to his left hand. He was released that evening.

He told Police that both his attackers were wearing dark-coloured helmets with visors when they assaulted him but that one was 5 ft 8 ins and wore a green jacket while the other was 5 ft 10 ins and wore a black-hooded jacket.

Anyone with information about the assault and robbery is urged to call the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
