Devonshire Cougars and North Village will both be looking to make the most of their last opportunity to win a trophy this season when they clash at Devonshire Rec in the FA Cup quarter-finals tonight.Both sides have fallen too far off the pace in the title race, with Village ten points behind league leaders Dandy Town and Cougars, the defending FA Cup champions 11 points adrift.For Village, the FA Cup is a competition they have failed to win since 2006 and their skipper, Sammy DeGraff, said they would be striving to add another piece of silverware to their already well-stocked trophy cabinet.“It’s good for the cup, it will be good for the fans and hopefully it lives up to the hype,” said DeGraff. “Our match against Cougars could be the tie of the round, although the other ties are also a good ones.“Someone will get knocked out, and you want to see these types of teams in the final.“The tournament is open to anyone and the winner of these big games will be looking to win it all. This is a trophy we haven’t won in a while and want to get our hands on so we will go looking for the result.”Village have come out on top against Cougars in their previous nine games, a statistic which could give Shaun Goater’s side the edge.Their latest meetings in the league have seen the Rams win 2-0 and a come from behind 5-3 victory at the ‘Den’ last month.“Although we have got the better of them lately, it has always been a battle, they have a never-say-die mentality at their club, as does their coach, so we will have to be wary of them,” added DeGraff.“The past two years Cougars have won it and I’m sure they won’t be looking to let it go anytime soon. It’s a cup game so regardless of the opponents it’s going to be an all or nothing game and we want to put our best foot forward.”“The game is “win or go home” that is it.
