Zoological Society at the Aquarium tonight.

Dr. Jon Hateley, a visiting biologist from Southampton University in the United Kingdom, is to talk about the role of genetics in the management and conservation of Bermuda's marine species.

Spiny lobsters, queen conches, and groupers will be among the species covered.

"His studies support the view that Bermuda may be partially dependent on `expatriate' Caribbean fish and lobster populations for maintaining local stocks,'' the Aquarium said in a news release. "Finally, he will summarise activities at the Coney Island group hatchery, where efforts to rear red hind and Nassau grouper have proceeded for the last two years.'' The talk is set for 8.30 p.m.
