Man refuses to explain his serious injuries to Police

A Devonshire man denied that he was assaulted and said he was involved in a traffic accident when Police found him in the hospital.

Police received reports of a pool of blood at the junction of Parsons Road and Fentons Drive in Pembroke last Thursday evening. When they arrived at the scene, however, no one was there. They went to the hospital to find out if anyone had been admitted for serious injuries and were directed to a 34-year-old man.

He was being treated for a laceration to his lip and a laceration to his right forearm and had arrived in the hospital earlier that evening.

A Police spokesman said: "It appeared that his injuries were the result of an assault, however, the Devonshire man refused Police assistance, insisting he had been involved in a road traffic collision.

"Therefore, no further Police action was taken."
