Work starts on new boardwalk

Work has started on a new new timber boardwalk and salt water marsh remediation at Cooper?s Island Nature Reserve, St. George?s.

The project will enable visitors to experience the endangered but important habitat at the reserve as part of a ?living museum? concept.

According to a statement from the Ministry of the Environment, Telecommunications and E-Commerce, the project will be a critical element in the development of new environmental teaching programmes for both children and adults.

Work will start on February 28, 2007 with a completion date of June 1, 2007, and entry to the area will be restricted during this time period.
