Police urge caution and courtesy on the roads

Police continue to advise motorists to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on roads.Members of the driving public are also urged to wear seatbelts at all times, and motorcyclists warned to fasten helmets and avoid making a third lane.According to officers, the week of April 27 to May 4 saw 15 reported collisions which resulted in injury and 42 damage only collisions.

According to officers, the week of April 27 to May 4 saw 15 reported collisions which resulted in injury and 42 damage only collisions.

Additionally, there were seven arrests on suspicion of impaired driving and 17 vehicles reported as stolen. One vehicle each was taken from St. George's, Smith's, Devonshire and Paget; 11 were taken from Pembroke and two from Warwick.

Said a Police spokesperson: "The majority of the vehicles removed were either auxiliary cycles or motorcycles, with three cars, one truck and one pedal cycle also reported stolen during the period. Of the 17 vehicles reported stolen, six were subsequently recovered consisting of one of the cars, three motorcycles, the truck and the pedal cycle."
