A 25-year-old man has been sentenced to three months in prison after running up $12,755 in charges on two credit cards stolen from independent Senator James Jardine.
On February 24 this year, Malik Cann, of no fixed abode, made the charges at a variety of Pembroke businesses, starting on February 13 up to February 18, when he tried to buy $5,500 of goods from Swiss Timing.
Cann pleaded guilty to all of the offences, telling Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner the crime spree was due to drugs and alcohol.
He used the cards to pay bar bills, buy pizza and place bets.
Mr Warner sentenced Cann to three months in jail, beginning since he was remanded on February 24, along with two years probation.
