JetBlue flight turns around
A JetBlue flight from New York to Bermuda with 50 passengers on board had to turn around and head back to New York due to a mechanical problem yesterday.
According to a passenger on the flight, the problem was caused by a leaking door seal.
A JetBlue spokesman said: "The crew did not declare an emergency, the aircraft landed safely and taxied to the gate under its own power. The customers were transferred to a new aircraft."
That aircraft left New York for Bermuda at 1.27 p.m New York time and landed in Bermuda around two hours later than originally scheduled, at 4.15 p.m Bermuda time. The return flight to JFK, which was scheduled for 3.10 p.m took off at 5.05 p.m.

A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said: "It appears that the car was travelling east on South Road when another motorist alerted the driver, a 26-year-old Smith's Parish woman, to flames coming from underneath her vehicle.
