Bermuda Hogges suffered a heavy defeat in their first away match of the season against high-flying Ironbound Express last night.

The Hogges found themselves three goals down within the first half an hour and also conceded twice in the second period.

Both Nahki Wells and Keishen Bean hit the woodwork for the visitors.

Hogges technical director Derek Broadley said the scoreline slightly flattered the hosts.

"I don't think it was really a 5-0 game and we had a lot of possession," he said.

"But the trouble was we had a lot of possession in our own third of the pitch and lacked some penetration going forward.

"We probably had a few square pegs in round holes and our shape wasn't good in the first half.

"But we changed a few things around in the second half and we looked a lot better.

"I thought Nahki Wells had a good game and Damon Ming looked dangerous at times."

Broadley said he was confident Hogges could pick themselves up before tomorrow's match against New Jersey Central.

"These are a resilient bunch of players an I'm confident we can pick ourselves up before our next match."

Hogges starting XI: Hall, Peniston, Dyer, Waldron, Alexander, Gibbons, Tucker, Wells, Darrell, Bean, Ming
