New bike a boost for Team Tuned

Team Tuned Motorcycling Racing has received a boost from Kymco Bermuda in the shape of a new Kymco Super 8 50cc bike as the team look to raise funds for their riders who will be racing against the best young racers in the US.

Riders Bruce Degrilla Jr. and Cody Sousa-Saints travel to Indianapolis, Indiana next week to represent Bermuda in their first world championship event.

In support of Bermuda's first youth development programme based on the foundation of motorcycle racing, Kymco Bermuda donated the bike to Team Tuned to help fund-raising efforts.

The donation will be in the form of the grand prize in Team Tuned's raffle. Tickets are currently being sold across Bermuda to help send the two riders to the Red Bull Indianapolis GP.

American Honda announced that during the GP from August 27 to 29, a special youth class had been added for racers riding the Moriwaki MD250H powered by Honda.

The Red Bull race is one of the rounds of the MotoGP World Championship, the most prestigious motorcycle road racing series in the world.

It has taken place annually since 2008 on a 16-turn, 2.621-mile road circuit at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that incorporates part of the Speedway's famous oval.

Team Tuned is a local Bermuda based motorcycle racing team, established by in 2007 and registered as a charity.

Its primary focus is the training of future national champions from the earliest point of their careers.

The raffle takes place on September 5 at the Bermuda Motorsports Park during round nine of the race series.
