CedarBridge’s National Honours Society (NHS) has held its Induction Ceremony.

Vice president Diana Arruda led the ceremony in Ruth Seaton James Auditorium. She was assisted by president Calaé Burgess, treasurer Nicole Santos and secretary Jayla Burt.

The four candles symbolising the four pillars of the National Honours Society — Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character — were lit by the executives.

The new inductees stood and recited the NHS pledge to be loyal to CedarBridge Academy and to uphold the high standards of NHS. They were presented with a certificate and wrote their names in the register.

The 2014 inductees are Jasai Burrows, Evan Heyliger, Tamara Jackson, Keizhari Knight, Que-Sjionah Outerbridge, Maya Palacio, Viaire Robinson, Kaisha Simons, Jahmai Small, and Jahstice Trott. Principal Mrs K Richards turned to the newly inducted members and gave them their charge and gave her remarks on the ceremony.

Following the ceremony Jahmai Small’s father gave comments on his expectations of the NHS and his son. He said: “I expect Jahmai to maintain his high academic standards and his athletic standards while staying well rounded. I am honoured to be a part of this new experience for him.”
