Breaking News: Verdicts in on RAA trial
A man who admitted shooting a teenager in the back was convicted this afternoon of unlawful wounding and gun possession.
However Dwayne Signor, 29, was cleared of the more serious charges of attempting to murder 18-year-old Shawn Williams and shooting him with intent to do grievous bodily harm.
Meanwhile, another man accused over the shooting was cleared of all the charges he faced.
Khyri Smith-Williams, 19, was accused of bringing the gun in question to the late night reggae party at the Royal Artillery Association club in St. George's.
The shooting took place at the premises in the early hours of Easter Sunday.
However the jury cleared him of that charge today, along with a charge of going armed in public so as to cause terror.
The verdicts came after more than four hours of deliberations at the end of the nine-day trial.
Signor was remanded into custody by Puisne Judge Charles-Etta Simmons after the verdict against him, and will be sentenced at a later date.
Meanwhile, she told Mr. Smith-Williams, who has been in custody since the April incident, that he was released a free man.
