Goals in each half by Otis Minors and Dejaun Paynter saw St. David's coast to victory in their First Division clash at Police field.

The maximum points means the East Enders continue their hot pursuit of leaders St. George's Colts who remain on top following their win over last place Wolves. St. David's remain in second place just two points behind Colts.

St. David's edged ahead with a goal from Minors after 37 minutes but Prospect remained competitive until the interval. St. David's stretched their lead to 2-0 after 54 minutes through skipper Paynter, but the home side remained competitive with Clifford Roberts prominent in midfield and Darren Harvey solid in their defence.

But with Paynter spearheading their attack and Anthony Burchall firm in the middle of their defence St. David's held on.

Somerset Eagles 3 BAA 1

Darin Dowling continued his superb goalscoring form at White Hill Field yesterday to inspire Eagles to victory over cellar-dwellars BAA.

Dowling grabbed his first on 30 minutes when he dribbled in the box and slotted home from an angle to cancel Antoine Lugo's early strike that put the visitors ahead early on. Eagles then went ahead when Troy Tucker turned in a cross from close range.

Dowling then put the result beyond doubt when he converted from the penalty spot after being floored in the box.

Elsewhere yesterday, league leaders St.George's thumped Wolves 4-0 at Wellington Oval.
