to defeat Bermuda's Kelly Way Holland 1-6, 6-4, 7-6 (10-8) on the second day of play in the annual Coral Beach Invitational Tennis Tournament.

In a contest that could have gone either way, it wasn't Holland's day, even though she fought off three match points to send the contest to the tie-break, then held four match points of her own in the tie-break before going down.

Taking the game a notch higher was the men's doubles contest between number two seeds Gi Baumer and Michael Way, who outlasted Sammy Maybury and Mark Cordeiro in a three-set thriller 7-6, 3-6, 6-1.

In other entertaining matches Alec Anderson defeated Mark Ward 6-1, 7-6 (7-4), Heidi and Graham Boyle defeated Lexi Petty and Hugh Barit 6-4, 6-7 (7-2), 6-1 in the mixed doubles, while Ericka Hendricks and Michael Keyes ousted Ann Englehardt and Sandy Frith-Brown 7-6, (7-5), 6-2.
