Search widens for missing British man
A search for a missing guest worker continued into its second day yesterday as Police combed the North Shore for clues to his disappearance.
Martin Molinski, a 26-year-old British national, was last seen by his roommate Nicholas Barrett, also a British national, shortly before 9 p.m. on Wednesday at their shared home, on Long Lane, Pembroke.
Police have confirmed that clothing belonging to Mr. Molinski was found at Admiralty House Park, in Spanish Point.
Mr. Barrett, 26, who also attended technical college with Mr. Molinski, yesterday said: "I can't understand it none of this adds up.
"He has only been in Bermuda for six months but he was really enjoying himself here. I have spoken with his sister and she indicated to me that he had told her the same thing, that he was loving living in Bermuda.
"He did not seem withdrawn or depressed and he had just lost some weight. He was on a mission to get fit, he was cycling and swimming and exercising a lot."
Mr. Molinski worked at Vinyltech, on Front Street, as a vinyl fabricator. The business specialises in PVC products and Ron Hook, Managing Partner, described Mr. Molinski as a "quiet guy who does his thing and doesn't bother anybody. He is a great worker and a nice guy".
He added: "After work on the day that he disappeared he went on a long cycle ride. He seemed in high spirits and was concentrated on getting fit. It is really strange, none of this makes sense."
Mr. Barrett said that although the pair had been drinking that evening Mr. Molinski "was not drunk". "When I left that evening, shortly before nine, he was not drunk and seemed normal."
And Mr. Barret said that it was unlikely that Mr. Molinski would have gone swimming that night. "He is not stupid. He would not have gone swimming at night by himself. I just can't see him doing it."
He added: "It has been so frustrating. I have been talking to his family and want to give them as much information as possible but I can't tell them anything because I know nothing myself."
Marine Police were yesterday searching the coastline around Spanish Point for any signs of Mr. Molinski but by press time there had been no new developments. He is described as being a white male between 6ft and 6ft 2 ins, medium build, closely cropped haircut with a light moustache and beard.
A Facebook page set up by his family said: "Please post any information here for my family since we are all so far apart and all over the world! This can be a central location for good thoughts and information!"
Anyone with any information about the whereabouts of 26 year old Martin Molinski is asked to contact PC Rajiv Bailey or PC Delfi Burrows on 295-0011.
