Police rugby side arrives
Members of the South Wales Police Force will descend on Bermuda this week for their bi-annual end of season rugby tour.
The Welsh side, who play in division five of the Welsh league, will play two games during their week long stay, against Bermuda Police tonight, and against a President's XV on Saturday.
This is the first time that the SW Police have toured Bermuda but there are links between some of the SW police officers who worked with the late Alan Oliver who was a Welsh Bermudian Police officer who tragically passed away last year in a moped accident.
Alan was one ofthe Bermuda Police Rugby Clubs greatest servants and played for the club for many years.
The tour has taken about a year to arrange. The first game between Bermuda Police RFC and South Wales Police RFC will take place tonight at BAA at 6.15pm and will be followed by a party at Robin Hood.
The game on Saturday against a President's XV will provide a tough test for a presidents side with many of the Bermuda national side in it.
The game takes place at 2.30pm at Warwick Academy and there will be a social event at the PRC, Prospect afterwards.
SW Police have brought 38 members of their club with them, and will be seen and heard singing from bar to bar and adding much joy and atmosphere to Bermuda in the next 6 days.
