Premier to attend Menuhin concert
As story in yesterday's newspaper incorrectly stated that the Menuhin Foundation provisdes free music classes to students at just three schools. The Foundation provides music lessons to students at almost all of Bermuda's primary and middle schools.
Premier Jennifer Smith will tomorrow attend what is believed to be the Island's biggest ever musical concert given by schoolchildren.
A total of 384 students will perform together at the finale of the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation student concert at the Ruth Seaton James Centre at CedarBridge Academy.
It is also thought to be the first time in the Foundation's 25-year history that a sitting Premier has attended the annual concert.
The Foundation gives free violin, viola and cello lessons to students at Bermuda High School, Warwick Academy, and Saltus senior and junior schools.
The Menuhin junior and senior orchestras, and students aged 7-16 from the other schools will play.
The climax will involve all 384 students playing together.
