Thief takes cash
A thief stole cash after breaking into a home while it was unoccupied.
Police say the intruder struck at the address in Mount Hill, Pembroke, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday. It is not thought anything other than money was stolen. Officers say there was another burglary at a home in Lapsley Lane, Sandys, last weekend. The offender stole a black tool box containing various tools after breaking into the cellar at some point on Saturday or Sunday.
Investigations are ongoing into both incidents. Witnesses should telephone Police on 295-0011 or the anonymous Crimestoppers hotline on 1-800-623-8477.
Church ransacked
A thief broke into a church and ransacked its offices before making off empty-handed.
Police say the offender broke into Wesley Methodist Church, in Church Street, Pembroke, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday. The church’s minister said several offices had been searched, but nothing appeared to have been stolen.
Also on Sunday, a thief broke into the garage of a home in Frithcote Lane, Warwick.
The intruder made off with a red generator with a black frame. The victim believes the incident happened before 2 p.m. that day.
Officers say inquiries into both incidents are underway and are calling for witnesses or anyone else with information to call them on 295-0011.
